China's First Lady on July 16 met with the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (), , for talks aimed at promoting international .

Mrs. Peng said she is honoured to be the special UNESCO envoy for the promotion of women's education, seeking to fight for the right to education for girls and women. She also said she was willing to continue working closely with the UN agency, and to share China's experiences in the campaign to contribute to equality in education and women's rights around the world.

Azoylay spoke highly of Mrs. Peng's contribution in promoting international education. She said she looked forward to enhancing exchanges and cooperation with China, to push forward multilateralism.

The Chinese First lady also met with the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

She expressed China's willingness to enhance cooperation with WHO to make greater contributions to the agency's 2030 sustainable goals on health.

Mrs. Peng also pledged her country's willingness to share its experience in health and sanitation, especially in fighting Tuberculosis and HIV AIDS.

Ghebreyesus highly commended Peng's work as WHO envoy for the prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis and AIDS. He said WHO was willing to enhance exchange and cooperation with China, and to jointly contribute to the development of world health.
